The walleye bite has been good. Sometimes battling the wind, boaters have had some good luck during the day using minnows, and leeches. In the evening shore fishing has been getting hot with walleye hitting as the sun is going down and a little after that. Finding an area where you can cast and try to drag it up along the rocks has been working the best. Using plastics tipped with a minnow has been successful. The water temperature is at about 55 degrees Fahrenheit.
Reports of people still catching some perch and bluegill along with some crappie have also come in. It is a great time to get to Big Stone Lake fishing.
